Four Lands of Mississauga

Art has been instrumental in facilitating social cohesion and fostering a sense of belonging. Brainchild of Ruth Howard, founding Artistic Director of Jumblies, Four Lands is a unique traveling project that presents meaningful engagement opportunities and sparks curiosity, conversation, and understanding of people’s relationships to a place: what they like, want to change, hold in mind from different places and times, wish for and imagine. Experience, through this film, the stories as Shifra, Adrienne and Ashley create and bring to life their own lands, through drawings, miniature models, words, music and conversation.

Community Celebrates Four Lands

In 2018, Four Lands toured Mississauga over a 7-week long engagement anchored within the Art Gallery of Mississauga. The project invited participation from hundreds of local artists and community members with diverse backgrounds, varying experiences and skill levels. Savour through this film, the energy and creative spirit at the grand communal event that marked the completion of the Project’s Mississauga tour, unifying community in celebration of art, the land and its people.
